About Carrageenan
Carrageenan, also named as eucheuma gum, cauliflower gum and Chondrus gum, is a high molecular hydrophilic polysaccharide extracted from the variety of red algae such as Eucheuma, Chondrus and Gigartina. The types of carrageenan are based on the difference of raw materials. There are four types of carrageenan with the widest commercial using: Kappa, Kappa II, Iota and Lambda. At present, it is one of the most widely used hydrocolloids in the field of food.
Application Scene
Food industry: Soft candy,Jelly, Ham sausage, Canned meat food, Ice cream, Beverages, Condiments, Milk, Budding, Dessert, Jam, Beer, Bread, etc.
Daily chemical industry: Toothpasta, Detergent,Mask,Cosmetics, Air freshener, etc.
Pharmaceuticals industry: capsules, Drug suspension agent, Barium sulfate dispersant,etc.
Biological chemistry: Microbial carrier, Immobilized cell carrier, etc.
Other industry: Water-based paints in coatings industry , ceramic enamel, thickeners of water coloring pigments, graphite suspending agents, upper slurries of textiles and paper, suspending agents of herbicides and insecticides on agriculture, etc.
